In the traditional smelting process, a large proportion of pig iron is often added. If the new process is adopted and columnar graphite recarburizer is added, the cost is lower and the performance of the finished product is better. The columnar graphite recarburizer has a high absorption rate, is easy to use, and does not need to adjust feeding equipment and methods. The reaction speed in the production process is fast, which can shorten the smelting time and achieve the effect of saving energy and reducing consumption.
In actual smelting, pig iron, scrap steel and recycled charge are often used as charge. The carbon content of pig iron is high, but the purchase price is higher than that of scrap steel, so the use of carburizer can increase the amount of scrap steel and reduce the amount of pig iron, which can reduce the casting cost to a certain extent. During cupola smelting, the amount of pig iron should be reduced as much as possible, and at the same time, columnar graphite recarburizer should be used to ensure a higher carbon equivalent and increase the amount of scrap steel. In this way, under the condition of high-temperature smelting, carbon with better activity and more significant graphitization can be obtained by carburizing. The use of columnar graphite recarburizer is beneficial to improve the mechanical properties of castings, reduce shrinkage tendency and improve processing performance.
