Graphite electrode is a carbon material made of high-quality graphite as raw material, melted and extruded at high temperature (about 1500°C), and then sintered.
It has the characteristics of compact structure, high mechanical strength, good thermal and electrical conductivity, high temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance and chemical corrosion, and high surface hardness.
It can be used as a protective device in various high-temperature furnaces, especially for electrodes that are welded in a molten state.
Graphite electrodes can be divided into the following types according to different uses: electric graphite electrodes, carbon electrodes (including graphite electrodes for metal thermal spraying), graphite electrodes for special purposes, graphite electrodes for heat-resistant agents, and composite insulating materials, among which carbon graphite electrodes are used for the best.
It is mainly used as protection and annealing medium in smelting and rolling or as protection and annealing medium for smelting metals (iron, aluminum, etc.).
Carbon carbon materials have the characteristics of low density and high strength, and are widely used in modern industry.
Graphite electrode has the characteristics of good thermal conductivity, high temperature resistance, strong wear resistance and high mechanical strength. It can be widely used in electric power, metallurgy, machinery, chemical industry and other industrial sectors.
At present, the quality standards of domestic electric graphite electrodes are mainly based on the purity, particle size and carbon content of raw carbon particles, and are prepared by advanced graphitization technology with wire electric discharge machine as the core process.
Due to the limitation of production process conditions, the current production of graphite electrodes is mainly made of natural graphite and semi-finished high-quality carbon powder as raw materials, which are characterized by stable product quality and reliable performance.
1. Stable quality: natural graphite electrodes use natural ore or industrial waste carbon powder as raw materials, and the product purity is as high as 98%; semi-refined carbon electrodes have good quality, low impurity content, stable performance, and long service life;
2. Reliable performance: high mechanical strength, good thermal shock resistance, high thermal conductivity and excellent electrical conductivity;
3. EDM wire cutting machine processing: the special calcium carbide saw for wire cutting machine provides a reliable guarantee for graphite electrode processing.
4. Difficult mechanical processing: carbon powder has a wide range of particle sizes and low carbon content, and it is easy to cause broken wires and tooth skipping during production.
